The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Since joining TriNet Group, Inc., in 2008, Burton Goldfield has distinguished himself as the company’s president and chief executive officer. A partner with small businesses in the areas of health care benefits, risk mitigation, employer compliance, and payroll, TriNet has become the largest independent human resources outsourcing provider and professional employer organization in the nation. In recognition of his success in leading the company to financial gains and other growth, Burton Goldfield earned placement as a finalist for the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in Northern California.

Established in 1986, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award is given annually to top entrepreneurs in different fields like financial services, life sciences, and technology. Simply succeeding financially is not enough to win; each winner is chosen based on metrics that include innovation, risk, and personal commitment to the business and his or her community. Winners also can obtain one-on-one meetings with Ernst & Young professionals to help develop business strategy and network with other entrepreneurs at the organization’s Strategic Growth Forum.
